Estrella Spa

Estrella Spa sits on the grounds of the Avalon Hotel & Bungalows, on the site of the city's historic tennis club in Palm Springs. It's a hotel spa built around a garden courtyard, with six indoor treatment rooms, a waiting sanctuary with a fireplace and tea service, separate men's and women's steam facilities, an outdoor cold plunge and sauna, and an outdoor jacuzzi with shaded day beds. A fitness center and private outdoor courtyards round out the amenities.

The spa runs 13 treatments, from massage and facials to add-ons like reflexology and LED light therapy. The signature Avalon Massage starts at $210 for 60 minutes, with longer sessions and other treatments (prenatal massage, a CBD-infused massage, the Avalon Facial, a Natura Bissé LED Diamond Facial) priced separately. Day visitors who aren't booking a treatment can access the facilities with a $75 day pass.

Estrella Spa is open Thursday through Monday, 9am to 4pm, and closed Tuesday and Wednesday; hours can shift seasonally. It's an adults-only space, with a minimum age of 18, and caters to couples and groups as well as solo visitors — bridal parties and groups of five or more get a complimentary round of bubbles and fruit. A credit card is required to hold any appointment, and payment for a group is processed to a single card. Reservations are recommended given the limited number of treatment rooms.
