Sefa Hamam sits in Kaleici, Antalya's old town, inside a bathhouse with roots traced to a 1450 restoration and the Seljuk-era Makbul Ağa Turkish Bath. The original layout survives in large part: the cold room, dry-warm room, moist-heat room and steam room are all original sections, along with the wood-fired boiler room that still heats the building through tunnels beneath the floor.
This isn't a drop-in bathhouse. Every session is a private reservation for one party only, capped at two guests, so no other visitors share the space while you're there. A male therapist handles all treatments for both men and women; there's no female masseuse on staff. Couples book together but are treated one after the other rather than side by side.
Two set treatments are on offer. The 60-minute version runs through a hamam soak, peeling and soap massage. The 90-minute version adds a 30-minute oil massage on top of the same sequence. The signature full hamam experience is priced at $4,800, putting this firmly at the high end of what a Turkish bath visit can cost, reflecting the exclusivity of the private booking rather than a shared day-pass setup.
Staff speak English, Russian, Turkish and German, which is useful given the location in a tourist-heavy part of the city. The hamam is open daily from 12:00 to 20:00, and given the private-session model, booking ahead through the venue is necessary rather than optional.
