Skin and Muscles

Skin and Muscles is a small, appointment-only day spa on Welton Street in Denver's Five Points neighborhood. The business runs out of three treatment rooms: one with a single bed, one with a single bed and a mini sauna, and a larger room that can hold up to three beds for group bookings or couples treatments.

The menu centers on massage, facials and head spa services. Massage options include relaxing/Swedish, therapeutic, cranial sacral (with one specific practitioner) and Ashiatsu, in 35, 60, 75 and 90-minute lengths. Head spa treatments come in two versions — a basic scalp-and-shoulder-massage package styled like a facial for the scalp, and a deep detox version with added exfoliation, a foot mask, under-eye mask and a short blow dry. Facial services range from a mini facial add-on to chemical peels, microneedling and Hydrafacial, and the team avoids retinol, Differin, Accutane and harsh exfoliants in their protocols.

The signature offering is the Skin & Muscles Reset Package, an 80-minute combination of massage and facial work. Thursdays bring a standing deal: a 90-minute massage, deep detox head spa or Hydrafacial for $149, though it can't be combined with other discounts. Clients also get 10% off for booking with two different practitioners in one visit or for bringing along a friend or family member.

Draping is used throughout massages, so clients choose their own comfort level with clothing. Parking is free on the street out front, with additional alley parking available by texting ahead. There's no walk-in service and no day-pass option — everything runs by reservation, typically arranged directly with the team by phone or email.
