Sparena is a large day-use hot spring facility about a one-minute drive from the first and second parking lots at the Nozawa Onsen ski resort. It pairs a swimsuit-required big outdoor bath with a source-fed outdoor viewing bath, plus separate indoor baths and saunas for men and women.
The on-site restaurant, Chantel, serves original dishes built around traditional Nozawa Onsen ingredients, with lunch and dinner hours that run separately from the bathing schedule. A gym is available for a workout or post-ski stretching, and a rest lounge lets visitors nap between soaks. A small shop sells souvenirs and seasonal items, and swimsuits, towels and gym shoes can all be rented at the front desk if needed.
Admission is 900 yen for adults (junior-high age and up) and 700 yen for children age three through elementary school, with bath access included. Gym use costs 1,700 yen and also includes bathing, though junior-high students must be accompanied by a guardian. In winter, anyone holding a one-day-or-longer lift ticket gets 100 yen off admission, and hotel guests can ask their accommodation about a separate discount. Annual bath memberships and monthly gym memberships are also offered.
Baths run 14:00 to 20:30 with last entry at 20:00, the gym operates 11:00 to 20:30 with the same last-entry cutoff, and the restaurant serves lunch from noon to 2pm and dinner from 4 to 8pm. The facility closes Wednesdays outside ski season and outdoor pool season, and shuts for roughly two weeks each spring and autumn for maintenance. On-site parking fits 100 cars.
