Surya Villa is an Ayurveda-focused treatment center tucked behind a courtyard on Husemannstraße in Prenzlauer Berg, close to Kollwitzplatz. The interior follows a Sri Lanka design theme, with rooms decorated in different colors and Asian details, plus a wooden steam bath and massage tables crafted in Sri Lanka specifically for the house.
The center runs five treatments, with the Abhyanga intensiv massage as its signature offering. Other services include Ayurvedic skincare, heat treatments such as the Dampfbad steam bath, and nutrition consultations where a therapist determines an individual's constitution type over two sessions and builds a dietary plan around it. A sauna with its own relaxation area sits on the second floor and must be booked by phone in advance rather than walked into.
Beyond treatments, Surya Villa hosts yoga, Qi Gong and Buddhist meditation courses, along with weekend seminars and workshops on Ayurvedic and yogic methods, plus occasional lectures and traditional Indian music concerts. There's a ground-floor relaxation area and, in summer, a quiet inner courtyard garden with a terrace where guests can order Ayurvedic herbal tea. An on-site shop sells Ayurvedic oils, spices, teas, cosmetics and gift items, and gift vouchers are available for massages or wellness days. For longer cures, the center can arrange multi-week Panchakarma stays at an affiliated Ayurveda resort in Bentota, Sri Lanka, supervised by traditional doctors and trained therapists.
Staff communicate in English and German. The space is geared toward adults and works well for solo visits, whether for a single treatment or a fuller wellness day paired with a meal.
