Badhus Sauna - Noord

Badhus Noord is a bathhouse on Papaverhoek in Amsterdam-Noord, built around a traditional Finnish sauna and a floating sauna, with cold outdoor showers, two ice baths, an outdoor terrace and indoor changing facilities. A woodburning stove keeps things warm in the colder months, and the attached Badhus Living Room serves as a café and hangout spot for before or after a session.

The main draw here is Saunagus, a guided session of alternating heat and cold rounds led by sauna masters, priced from $25. Sessions typically run 75 to 90 minutes, long enough for several rounds plus proper rest in the relaxation areas. Day passes and walk-ins are both accepted, and the place works equally well for solo visitors, couples or groups, though capacity is limited so booking ahead is worth doing.

Opening hours run Wednesday to Friday from 16:00 to 21:30, and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 21:30; it's closed Monday and Tuesday. The address is Papaverhoek 31, Amsterdam.
