Kashoutei Hanaya is a small ryokan of 21 rooms in Noboribetsu Onsen, Hokkaido, built around a hot spring that runs 100% source-fed and kake-nagashi (flow-through, never recirculated). The sulfur water is piped from a spring about a kilometer away in Jigokudani; because the source runs very hot, it's added to the tubs slowly, and sulfur deposits (yunohana) settle at the bottom and cloud the water white when stirred.

Beyond the bath, the property has a sauna, steam room, hot tub, thermal pool and cold plunge. Dinner is served in-room as a multi-course kaiseki meal built around seasonal and local ingredients, plated on custom-designed Arita ware. Draft beer, sake and other drinks are free from the lobby for the length of a stay and can be carried back to the room.

Access is by reservation only. A free shuttle runs between JR Noboribetsu Station and the ryokan, and the hotel can also drive guests into the onsen town or out to Jigokudani. The place markets itself toward couples and multi-generational families, with anniversary, proposal and milestone-birthday stays mentioned specifically — including free loan of the ceremonial jacket worn for 60th and 70th birthday celebrations in Japan.

Overnight plans with two meals included start at roughly ¥16,700 per person for the simplest option and run up to about ¥40,700 per person for a plan with seafood platter and beef hot-plate course, consistent with the venue's upscale price tier. Confirm current plan pricing and room type directly with the ryokan before booking.
