Lohja Spa & Resort

Lohja Spa & Resort sits on the shore of Lake Lohjanjärvi in Karjalohja, surrounded by forest, roughly an hour's drive from both Helsinki and Turku. It operates as a resort spa that takes overnight guests but also welcomes visitors who just want a day at the baths.

The spa area includes a thermal pool, outdoor baths, a salt room, a fitness center and a day-spa section with beauty and hair salon services. The signature treatment on offer is the Gérards line. A restaurant and café round out the on-site services, covering everything from breakfast buffets to à la carte dinners and pizza.

The interior design draws on Sakari Topelius's fairy tale "The Birch and the Star," with its storytelling worked into the materials, imagery, scents and colors throughout the bathing areas. Beyond spa treatments, the resort hosts concerts, dance nights, karaoke, meetings and corporate wellness days, and it also runs Kela-funded rehabilitation programs for adults, both at Lohja and at a Kuopio location.

In summer, guests can use a sandy beach, a lakeside terrace with views, and rent bikes to explore the surrounding village of Karjalohja. Nearby attractions include the Fiskars and Billnäs ironworks villages, Mustio Manor and the Tytyri Experience Mine. Staff work in Finnish, English and Swedish, and a day pass does not require booking a room, though package deals bundling accommodation with spa and gym access are also sold through the online booking system.
