Shibui Spa sits inside The Greenwich Hotel in Tribeca, a luxury hotel spa rather than a standalone day-spa operation. The space is built around wood, water and stone, with design that leans Japanese and references to pieces with a storied past running through the property.

The core facilities are a heated swimming pool, a relaxation lounge, and changing areas equipped with steam and rain showers. Five individual treatment rooms handle the actual bodywork, and guests are looked after by personalized spa concierge service rather than a self-serve front desk. Robes here are Japanese yukata, showers use Red Flower amenities, and there's complimentary tea, water and dried fruit available in the lounge.

Treatments draw on both ancient and contemporary techniques, with an emphasis on plant-based and, where possible, organic products. A retail boutique on site sells related products, and gift certificates can be arranged for customized experiences. The spa is ADA accessible.

This is a reservation-required spa aimed at adults, including couples, and priced at the luxury end of the scale. It's open daily from 9am to 9pm.
