Roosevelt Baths & Spa sits inside Saratoga Spa State Park, part of the Gideon Putnam resort, and dates back to 1935 when Franklin Roosevelt's preservation efforts helped establish the site. The building still holds 42 original treatment rooms, and some of the soaking tubs from the 1940s remain in use for the mineral baths.

The core experience is Saratoga's naturally effervescent mineral water, pumped cold from underground springs and blended with warm fresh water to a neutral temperature. The signature offering is a hydrotherapy spa experience, and the menu also covers massages, facials, and body treatments alongside the mineral soaks. A relaxation lounge and hydrotherapy circuit round out the amenities.

This is not a walk-in spot. Reservations are required, either online or by phone, and the spa holds a 24-hour cancellation policy, so changing plans last minute can cost you. Arriving 30 minutes early for check-in is recommended. Hours run 9am to 5pm Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with Tuesday and Wednesday closed; the spa is also closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The property runs cashless, with on-site reverse ATMs available for guests who only carry cash. It's open to all adults, not just hotel guests or couples, and clothing-optional access isn't offered. Visitor feedback consistently points to the mineral baths paired with a massage as the combination worth booking, and notes the relaxation room as a highlight worth building time for.
