Spa at The Del

The Spa & Salon at The Del is the wellness wing of the Hotel del Coronado, a beachfront property on Coronado Island dating back to 1888. It's a reservation-based hotel spa, not a drop-in facility, and there's no standalone day pass — access to the relaxation lounges, spa terrace, and ocean-view spa pool comes with booking a massage, facial, or body treatment.

The menu runs about 20 treatments across massage, facial, body, hair, and nail categories, with a strong lean toward sea-sourced ingredients. The signature Ocean Essence Ritual (100 minutes) uses hand-harvested seaweed for a body buff, warm seaweed wrap, marine eye treatment, and scalp massage. Other options include a Mindful Dreams Rest Ritual aimed at sleep, a Balancing Ritual that combines Gua Sha and cold stone work, a Hawaiian-style Lomi Lomi called Ocean Wave, and a Table Thai massage done over loose clothing with stretching. Couples treatments run in a dedicated Couples Suite, and add-ons like a marine eye mask or hot sea salt stones can be tacked onto most services.

The spa is open daily, with slightly earlier starts on Monday, Wednesday, Sunday, and later Tuesday mornings, generally running from around 8:30 or 9am to 6pm. Complimentary self-parking comes with any treatment booking. The minimum age is 14, and clothing-optional areas exist for certain treatments or spaces. For families, the hotel's Ocean Explorers Kids Club or private childcare can occupy children while adults are in treatment. This sits at an upscale price tier, in line with the hotel's overall positioning as a long-standing Coronado landmark rather than a quick, casual spa stop.
